Saturday, April 27: 19th annual Hoosier Gym Classic All-Stars games. Watch the state’s best high school boys and girls basketball players face off in a doubleheader at the Hoosier Gym, 355 N. Washington St., Knightstown, Indiana. Girls’ game begins at noon; boys’ game will follow. Tickets are $25 and must be ordered in advance or purchased in advance at the Hoosier Gym. Tickets are good for both games.

After an absence of over 20 years, the Hickory Huskers’ team bus has returned to Indiana. A partnership between the bus’s owner and the Hoosier Gym (Hickory’s home court) allows the bus, a fully restored 1939 Chevy, to be located primarily in Knightstown. The bus will appear periodically at special events.

Recent Past Events

The Hoosier Gym in Knightstown celebrated its 100th birthday in November 2021.

The Hoosier Gym in Knightstown was awarded a $500,000 grant from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA). The money went toward a new roof, new windows, and brick tuck-pointing that will help preserve this 1921 gymnasium, a popular tourist destination and community center. Renovations began in the summer of 2019 and continued through 2020.

* * *Hoosiers director David Anspaugh has directed theater productions for Ivy Tech Student Productions and the Bloomington (Indiana) Playwrights Project.
